Department of Tourism Management

The Department of Tourism Management was established in 1984. The aim of the department is to train qualified staff, middle and upper level managerial candidates for the tourism sector by providing contemporary, scientific and qualified education and training in the field of tourism management. In line with this purpose, the students are equipped with knowledge and skills related to two foreign languages, one in English, information technologies, tourism sector and tourism enterprises, modern business administration and management. Students have to do 90 business days internship (business training) in tourism enterprises in order to graduate from this department.

Graduates’ Fields of Work

In accommodation enterprises; Opportunity to work in various positions provided by hotel management such as Hotel Manager, Front Office Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, Bar Manager, Restaurant Manager, Reception Manager, Housekeeping Manager, Floor Supervisor.

In the food and beverage industry; Opportunity to work in positions such as Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Chief, Headwaiter, Barman, Barmaid.

At travel agencies; Opportunity to work in positions such as business management directorate, tour management, information officer, etc.
